theMagger — An Interview with Shiva Zahed on Against Transparency

On visibility, representation, and the limits of the image

Shiva Zahed Gallery has welcomed Istanbul’s art audience with its second exhibition. Opened in February, the gallery is dedicated to contemporary Iranian art. Since 22 May, it has been presenting Ahmad Rafi’s solo exhibition, Against Transparency. We spoke with Shiva Zahed, the gallery’s founder and the exhibition’s curator.

Against Transparency focuses on a landmark body of work produced over the past two decades, examined through its profound engagement with contemporary global discourses surrounding visibility, representation, and the limits of the image. The exhibition remains on view until 18 July.
